The highly anticipated Lowther Horse Driving Trials are set to return to the glorious grounds of Lowther Castle on 13th and 14th August 2016 with a weekend full of fast sporting action!
Now in its 44th year, the headline attraction sees approximately 80 entrants navigate around tight bends, splash through water and race down hill for the fastest time.
The exhilarating trials include eight different classes for both horse and pony including novice, intermediate and advanced as well as single, pairs, tandem and four-in-hand.
With three different events (dressage, marathon and cone course) happening from Friday 12 until Sunday 14 August at Lowther Park in Penrith, there is plenty of time to catch a glimpse of the action.
Carriages are set to speed around 11 miles of stunning estate land around Lowther Castle – within Lowther Home Park and adjacent to the Country Show.
Spectators of the cone course are in for a real treat as drivers navigate ten sets of cones set at a wider distance than normal, with two knock down elements to negotiate. It’s an event not to be missed!
