Great for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life, fishing remains one of the most relaxing outdoor sports and pastimes in the UK and we are pleased to announce that the Lowther Fishing Island returns this August with both MOTV and Prince Albert Angling at its side.
Co-sponsored by MOTV and Prince Albert Angling Society, the Fishing Island at Lowther has only the best representatives, associations, trust, clubs and organisations this year, including those from the Eden Valley, the Rivers Annan, Ure and Nith and various still waters. Fisherman’s Row also features many retail and information stands, pointing enthusiasts to the vast amount of fishing, great scenery and availability there is in the area.
Bringing a little bit of calm and entertainment to this year’s Lowther Show over 13th and 14th August, the Lowther Fishing Island with MOTV and Prince Albert Angling also welcomes the AAPGAI, who will be on site and at hand to offer some useful guidance for both old and new to the sport. Perfect for those getting into the sport, the AAPGAI will be running fly-casting clinics for both adult and juniors and putting on regular fly-casting and fly-tying demonstrations. Alongside this, Borderlines have confirmed their attendance at this year’s Show to talk about the work they do in the communities around northern England and south west Scotland and how they can help schools and our local youth.
Taking place on the Fishing Island, visitors can get involved in lots of activities such as fly-tying, river walks, various fly casting competitions and family fun activities, so whatever your plans are at this year’s Lowther Show, make sure you check out the MOTV and Prince Albert Angling Fishing Island and chat with the professionals, have some fun and learn something new.
