After the successes of the 2014 Lowther Show, we’re delighted to welcome back the Taste Cumbria Food and Beer Festival to the Lowther grounds this August. Proving a huge success in 2014, this year’s Festival has mouth-watering foods and ales from across the country for all to try and enjoy!
The Taste Cumbria Food and Beer Village brings the most delectable food produce and best breweries from the county to the countryside event. There’s plenty of delicious food to save for the comfort of your own home or to devour whilst on the festival site. With a wide range of food for you to sample you’ll be spoilt for choice, from the ‘Posh Burger’ to the traditional Cumberland sausage. Why not treat yourself to a pint of the finest beer? If you’re watching your waistline, you could even try a healthy fresh fruit smoothie! With a variety of delicious treats for every taste bud, there’s definitely something to suit all.
If you enjoy cooking up a storm in the kitchen, check out the cookery demonstrations at the Taste Cumbria Food and Beer Festival for some culinary inspiration. They will take place on the hour from 10am until 4pm over both days so there’s plenty of opportunity to pick up some fresh cookery tips. There will also be award-winning local chefs on hand, giving you the best advice and the annual sausage eating challenge to get stuck into.
To wash down the finest foods of Cumbria, Penrith’s Moo Bar will be hosting a real ale bar, with a whole host of brewers who are all located just a short distance away from the Lowther Show. Eden Brewery, Hesket Newmarket and Barngates are just a few names that will be attending, with many more to come. Moo Bar is a specialist cask ale and world beer bar with a wealth of cask ale experience. If that isn’t enough, there will be an abundance of musical entertainment in the Food and Beer Village over the weekend too.
The Taste Cumbria Food and Beer Festival at the Lowther Show is a must for all foodies and beer lovers this coming August. Visit the many stalls for a selection of high-quality, appetising produce. It’s definitely one not to miss!
