The Lowther Show returns to the beautiful grounds of Lowther Castle over the 15th and 16th of August this year, bringing a fantastic line-up that will entertain, amuse and excite every member of the family.
Here’s just a few fun-filled activities to keep you and your little ones entertained this August…
Visit the Rockcliffe Ferret Rescue Team for the best advice in caring for ferrets. They will be on hand to fill you in on everything you need to know about the furry, little creatures, as well as putting on a thrilling ferret race that the little ones will love. Make sure you bring your own ferret along and watch it scurry across the finish line.
Have a peek inside the Animal Tent where you will find an array of interesting creatures such as snakes, spiders, scorpions, insects, meerkats and stunning birds of prey. Bryan will host the wildlife display showcasing his captive bred, hand-reared birds.
Keep a look out for Riverboat Days, a strolling jazz duo who will play their ‘Dixieland Style’ music to the crowds of Lowther.
Take the kids to Toys From Junk, a master class hosted by Chris Robson teaching children how to make scientific toys from simple materials. They can have a go at transforming drinks cans into moving chariots, make a model bird that cleverly balances on the end of your finger, or even create a pirate that clatters down a ladder. Just leave the little ones with Chris and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of Lowther.
For the older members of the family there’s the FB Pocket Orchestra who will be playing hot jazz, blues, ragtime and popular dances of the 1920s, 30s and even earlier, while the younger ones enjoy bouncy castles and trampolines.
Why not try your hand at archery? With ACA, a Coaching and Entertainment group on hand offering visitors at Lowther the chance to use compound bows with sights, stabilisers and carbon fibre arrows, this could be your chance to give the sport a go. Aim and fire at 3D Field Archery Targets from Rhinehart USA, traditional circular faces, balloons and why not have a go at the dinosaur. Run by a fully qualified NFAS Coach he will offer you the best advice and tips in the sport, as well as providing you with the most comfortable bows.
