We are very excited to welcome back the Lowther Show to the Lowther Estate on the 10th and 11th August 2019!

fun for all the family and an abundance of activities to get involved with

Taking place over 10th and 11th August 2019, the Lowther Show brings lots of attractions, feature arenas and family entertainment making the perfect day out this summer. Here’s a little of what makes Lowther and its stunning Cumbrian countryside so special.

When you hear the name ‘Cumbria’ you immediately think of lakes and mountains and of forests and fells. Cumbria is the home of outdoor pursuits and the land of adventure sports and there is no more fitting a county to host a celebration of country sports and the Great Outdoors here.

Lake District National Park

A predominantly rural county, Cumbria is home to the Lake District National Park, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful areas of the United Kingdom. Cumbria has provided creative inspiration for generations of artists, writers and musicians.

The Cumbria Area

Much of the county is mountainous, with the highest point of the county, and indeed of England, being Scafell Pike. Cumbria is also best known for its lakes and the Lake Districtis the largest of the UK’s National Parks, featuring 16 of its most spectacular inland waters. The Lake District is also home to over 150 peaks, four over 3,000 feet, including Scafell Pike at 3,206 feet.

A little about the history of Cumbria…

Along with this, Cumbria also has an amazing country sports heritage and has historically been home to some of the UK’s most prestigious and iconic countryside events. In 2019 we are excited to be working with Cumbria’s Lowther Estate to host the Lowther Show once again, creating a true celebration of Cumbria’s country heritage.
